Windswept

I know what you want. You want a story that won’t surprise you. That will confirm what you already know. That won’t make you see higher or further or differently. You want a flat story. An immobile story. You want dry, yeastless factuality.

As I type, Maynard is making his way to Japan.  I’m really lucky we got to spend a lot of time together (and with Myron!) before we left.  I mean, we took a road trip, hung out in California, and ended off with a trip to Richmond and Busch Gardens.  Up to this moment, I have been pretty sad just thinking about him leaving but now that I await his last call before he boards his plane at LAX to fly away from Verizon service - I can feel my heart beating a little faster with nerves.

It’s okay though, big sib Joanna and my best friend Katelynn who both have experience with super long distance bfs have told me the first goodbye is the hardest.  And I believe them.

Besides, Maynard keeps reminding me this isn’t goodbye - he’ll call me when he gets to in Japan. (:

- soon enough.
